The CCPP provides a safe environment and a positive chance for the children to learn and develop their talents through a creative perspective.

The children are provided with :

  • A meeting place and a focal point (or second “home”)

  • Materials and facilities needed to paint and the opportunity to generate an income through the sale of their paintings

  • One meal a day

  • Drinking water

  • First aid and dental care support

  • An environment which encourages Cambodian culture

Furthermore:

CCPP ensures that all of the children taking part in the project go to local Cambodian school (one 4 hour session a day) by keeping track of their daily activities. We also act as a go-between for foreigners who would like to financially sponsor a child to attend the private English school (1-2 hours a day).

We keep close contact with other NGOs and child protection agencies. They are present on the beach but are not in direct contact with the children. If there is an incident or accident we immediately know about it and we inform them in case there is a need for them to take action.

With our staff present on the premises and keeping very long hours :

  • We constantly provide the children with trustworthy adult supervision, guidance, counselling and care.
  • We engage the children in discussion groups where they are building self–confidence and interpersonal skills.

Through CCPP:

The children are making new friends and learning the importance of helping each other and working together. They now have a happier social, play and peer group that provides protection and an improved sense of security and knowledge of what to do and who to talk to in case of need.

We also organize prevention information sessions on sexual education, use of water and sanitation, and health education. The children can share this information with their family members and other children.
