The Future :
The recent activities and scope of CCPP work have expanded, in particular during 2006-2007 season with the expansion of the full time staff thanks to the arrival of two young volunteer project managers. They have dedicated their full time to the children and to further energizing and diversifying the content and visibility of the project. This has generated a positive response from the children and the local community, as well as from non-Cambodians that have visited the project or otherwise become familiar with its work. |

The above has led us to conclude that we should work towards building the CCPP into a fully functioning children's art and cultural centre in Sihanoukville , that would operate and be fully staffed on a year round basis.
The change over time will be a general increase in the number of services offered and the amount of information available. We wish to have a more significant role in providing the children with necessary life skills and ensuring close follow-up of training during and after their taking part in CCPP. Through close collaboration with other NGOs and government organizations we want to ensure that the children's education continues once they have left the CCPP and that they receive training in agriculture, mechanics, carpentry, tourism, sewing, tailoring, fishing, handicrafts and other income generating professions and activities. |

Any moves in this direction, however, would involve a considerable financial cost. The warm response and interest of many individuals in the project and their willingness to make small contributions in cash and in kind, have served as a morale booster to those involved, and an encouragement to broaden the fundraising efforts beyond the small community of volunteers and friends in Ibiza to other potential contributors in other locations, including donor institutions. The funds raised will enable CCPP to be more ambitious and enterprising in its activities in the coming year. |

Thus, during the season 2007-2008, we plan to further develop CCPP activities, as well as to discuss and evolve plans for the future, including through interaction with the children taking part in the project, the local authorities and the population. We also intend to use our website to receive suggestions from interested individuals and organizations worldwide. Likewise, we hope to exchange views with visitors to the project site and tourists on Ochheuteal Beach. |
